Emergency acupuncture, laser, and massage

After diagnosis and initial treatment with a primary care or emergency veterinarian, there are conditions that warrant consideration for acupuncture as soon as possible!

Some conditions cause severe pain and may progress quickly. Performing acupuncture on an urgent basis may provide significant relief and healing.

In certain situations, acupuncture can be initiated as soon as possible––and when appropriate––can be coordinated in conjunction with primary emergency treatment. Some of these conditions include:

  • IVDD (intervertebral disc disease)
  • FCE (fibrocartilaginous embolism or blood clot)
  • Paresis – partial loss of movement in one or more limbs or areas
  • Paralysis – total loss of movement in one or more limbs or areas
  • Colic – Acupuncture can be an effective adjunctive treatment for non-surgical colics to help with pain and increase gut motility
  • Founder – Acupuncture can help reduce the inflammation and pain of laminitis
  • Muscle spasms – due to trauma such as a car accident
  • Post-block urethral spasms in male kitties and goats
